Cheers Color the Running Race on Jalan Pramuka Bengkalis
BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – Hundreds of teenagers seemed enthusiastic to fill Jalan Pramuka, precisely in Air Putih Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency. They gathered to watch the short-distance running race held on Tuesday night, March 18, 2025. The atmosphere became even more lively when two to three runners raced, starting from in front of the Bengkalis Regional Secretary’s Official Residence until reaching the finish line which was greeted by cheers from the audience.
This running race is a special entertainment for the community, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. This activity is usually attended by young people and teenagers aged from their teens to early 20s. It is not surprising that the enthusiasm and energy of the participants are able to ignite the enthusiasm of the audience who continue to provide support along the track.
The phenomenon of short-distance running races like this is indeed becoming a trend in various regions of Indonesia, especially during Ramadan. Tuesday Night, March 18, 2025, Bengkalis Island is proof that this activity is still very popular. In several regions, competitions like this even receive serious attention from the government and local authorities who also help foster and supervise the implementation of the activities, in order to maintain security and order.
However, in several other regions, similar running competitions are not permitted because they are considered to have the potential to disrupt public order and traffic safety. Some are also immediately disbanded by officers to avoid unwanted incidents.
However, the enthusiasm of the people on Jalan Pramuka, Bengkalis, on Wednesday night proved that this running competition is not just a speed contest, but also a forum for togetherness and sports spirit in a month full of blessings.
