LAMR Management of Bengkalis Regency for the 2024–2029 Service Period Officially Inaugurated
BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – The Customary Council (MKA) and the Daily Management Board (DPH) of the Riau Malay Customary Institution (LAMR) of Bengkalis Regency for the 2024–2029 service period were officially inaugurated. The inauguration and crowning of the LAMR management was held at the LAMR Hall of Bengkalis Regency, Monday, March 17, 2025, in a solemn atmosphere full of Malay customs.
The inauguration was carried out directly by the General Chairperson of the MKA LAMR of Riau Province, Datuk Seri H. Raja Marjohan Yusuf, accompanied by the Chairperson of the DPH LAMR of Riau Province, Datuk Seri H. Taufik Ikram Jamil, and witnessed by the Regent of Bengkalis Kasmarni.
In this new management, Datuk Seri H. Ilham Noer was appointed as the General Chairperson of the MKA LAMR Bengkalis Regency, while Datuk Seri Syaukani Alkarim served as the General Chairperson of the DPH LAMR Bengkalis Regency.
The inauguration procession began with the reading of the Decree by the General Secretary of the DPH LAMR Riau Province Datuk Junaidi Dasa, followed by the pinning of the tanjak, keris, and sash. The procession ended with the clapping of plain flour as a symbol of the traditional blessing for the new management.
In his interview after the procession, Datuk Seri Syaukani Alkarim emphasized the commitment of the LAMR Bengkalis Regency under his leadership to maintain and advance Malay customs and culture in Negeri Junjungan.
“We are committed to making LAMR the big home of the Malay community in Bengkalis Regency. The newly inaugurated management is ready to work together with all elements of society and government to strengthen the values of customs, culture, and Malay dignity,” said Syaukani.
He also said that LAMR Bengkalis will focus on programs to preserve customs, foster the younger generation in understanding Malay culture, and strengthen traditional institutions so that they remain relevant amidst the development of the times.
“We want the benefits of LAMR to be truly felt by the community. Through traditional and socio-cultural activities, we will continue to strengthen the Malay identity in Bengkalis,” he added.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Regent of Bengkalis, Forkopimda, Regional Secretary of Bengkalis Regency, Chairperson of TP PKK Bengkalis Regency, Chairperson of DWP and other invited guests.
With the official inauguration of the management of MKA and DPH LAMR Bengkalis Regency for the 2024-2029 term, it is hoped that this traditional institution will be even stronger in preserving Malay cultural heritage and playing an active role as a partner of the local government in development based on traditional and cultural values.
