NUNUKAN-ASWINNEWS.COM- On Sunday morning, March 16, 2025, the Border Security Task Force Yonarmed 11 Kostrad together with vertical agencies consisting of Customs, Immigration, and the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP3MI) conducted an integrated patrol in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area.
This activity was also attended by the Head of the Nunukan District Court (PN), representatives of officials from the Transportation Service, and the Head of the Nunukan Correctional Institution (Kalapas).
This patrol includes monitoring border crossers and checking the Border Crossing Post at Mark 3 of Sebatik Island and the Sei Nyamuk State Border Crossing Post (PLBN). This activity is an implementation of positive synergy between the TNI and government agencies in maintaining security and order in the border areas which are the operational responsibility of the Border Security Task Force Yonarmed 11 Kostrad.
Commander of Pamtas Yonarmed 11 Kostrad Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Arm Gde Adhy Surya Mahendra, stated that this patrol aims to ensure that the border crossing process runs in accordance with applicable provisions and operational standards. In addition, this patrol also campaigns for the prevention of illegal activities, including smuggling of goods and human trafficking (TPPO), and emphasizes the commitment to maintaining the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) in the border area.
As a form of social concern, this activity is also interspersed with the provision of basic food assistance to local residents. This assistance is sponsored by BRI and Bank Kaltimtara as a form of support for the welfare of the community in the border area.
With this integrated patrol, it is hoped that border security will be increasingly maintained, and public awareness of the importance of good border governance can continue to increase.
