The Digital Dementia phenomenon in children and adolescents causes “Brain Rot” which is very dangerous because it causes brain stem decay due to gadget addiction and overuse of gadgets. The effect is as a cause of cognitive function disorders due to excessive use of technology.

Causes of the “Brain Decay” Phenomenon Due to Gadgets

1. Brain Overstimulation
Continuous screen exposure causes the brain to become accustomed to rapid stimulation, making it difficult to concentrate on slower tasks such as reading or thinking deeply.

2. Memory Disorders
Dependence on the internet to search for information reduces the brain’s ability to remember and process data independently.

4. Impact on Brain Structure
Studies show that excessive use of gadgets can weaken connectivity between parts of the brain responsible for focus, decision making, and emotional control.

4. Decreased Social Skills
Virtual interactions replace real interactions, so a person’s social skills and empathy can decrease.
