Regent Asmar And Deputy Regent Muzamil Receive Traditional Blessings from LAM Riau
PEKANBARU, RIAU – ASWINNEWS.COM– Regent of the Meranti Islands, AKBP (Ret.) H. Asmar, together with Deputy Regent Muzamil Baharuddin, participated in the fresh flour pat procession at the Riau Malay Customary Institution (LAMR) Building, Pekanbaru, Saturday (1/3/2025) evening
This Malay tradition is a form of respect and blessing for regional heads, including governors, regents, and mayors throughout Riau Province, after they attended a retreat organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in Magelang.
Regent Asmar expressed his gratitude and thanks for the traditional procession given by LAM Riau. According to him, the fresh flour pat is a prayer and hope that his leadership will run smoothly and bring blessings to the community.
“This is not just a traditional procession, but also a symbol of togetherness and support so that we can carry out our mandate well. Hopefully in the future, the regional government and the community can unite to build a more advanced Meranti Islands,” said Asmar.
Deputy Regent Muzamil Baharuddin added that this procession is a reminder for regional leaders to always uphold the values of Malay customs and culture in running the government.
“We not only received the pat of fresh flour and the installation of tanjak, but also received advice and guidance from LAM Riau. This is a valuable provision in leading the region,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of LAM Riau, Datuk Seri Taufik Ikram Jamil, emphasized that customs and culture must continue to be maintained so that they remain a guideline in the lives of the Riau people.
“LAM Riau is committed to continuing to preserve the customs inherited from their ancestors. This procession is a form of blessing and support so that regional leaders can bring progress and prosperity to the community,” he said.
With this procession, it is hoped that the leadership of Regent Asmar and Deputy Regent Muzamil will be stronger, and able to bring the Meranti Islands in a better direction while still upholding the values of Malay culture.
