BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – An inspiring story comes from Narto, a 63-year-old man who has spent most of his life traveling around the archipelago by motorcycle. On his trip this time, he stopped in Bengkalis Regency and was warmly welcomed by the Bengkalis Regency Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the International Journalists Association (ASWIN) on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
DPC ASWIN Bengkalis Regency not only met with Narto, but also invited him to visit one of the local tourist destinations known as CAPCIN, The friendly atmosphere was felt as they enjoyed drinks while listening to Narto’s long, inspiring journey.
Narto, who comes from a family from Kebumen and now lives in Lima Puluh, North Sumatra, has started his adventure around Indonesia since 1987. Even though he has a wife and four children, he only returns home about once a year. “This trip is my dream. I don’t feel any sadness, instead I find happiness in every trip,” said Narto with an enthusiastic smile.
The plan is, after stopping in Bengkalis, Narto will continue his journey to Batam, Riau Islands, on Tuesday afternoon. For him, this trip is not just about covering a distance, but a valuable experience that enriches his life.
The Head of the Bengkalis Regency ASWIN DPC, Harry Warisman Syaputra, expressed his appreciation for Narto’s determination and tenacity. “Mr. Narto has proven that age is not an obstacle to realizing dreams. His story is a real motivation for all of us, especially the younger generation, to dare to pursue dreams and love this country through direct experience in the field,” said Harry.
Narto’s presence in Bengkalis not only presents an adventure story, but also a momentum to remind us of the importance of enthusiasm for life, courage, and love for the homeland.
