This prestigious program is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora RI) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia, which aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries through youth diplomacy.
Alima is one of 21 of Indonesia’s best young people who have successfully passed the strict selection of this program. For two months, she will undergo a cultural exchange in two phases:
✅ The first phase in Canberra, Australia (November 1 – December 4, 2024), where participants will take part in various professional and social programs. ✅ The second phase in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (6 December 2024 – 7 January 2025), to share experiences and strengthen the impact of the program in the local community.
Throughout the program, Alima and other participants will participate in various strategic activities, including:
🔹 Internship at an international institution, improving professional understanding and global insight. 🔹 Global Competency Certification, as a competitive capital at the international level. 🔹 Workshops & Webinars, with world experts in diplomacy, politics, and academics. 🔹 Living with a host family, experiencing firsthand the culture and social life of the local community. 🔹 Social projects & cultural exchanges, to strengthen cross-cultural understanding and build international networks.
As a representative of West Kalimantan, Alima feels proud and enthusiastic about this opportunity.
“AIYEP is a golden bridge for the younger generation to broaden their global horizons, establish international connections, and understand bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Australia directly. This is a valuable experience that encourages us to get out of our comfort zones and become part of the change,” said Alima, Thursday, February 6, 2025.
The AIYEP program is not just a cultural exchange, but also an effort to build long-term collaboration between Indonesia and Australia. Alima hopes to become a young ambassador who brings a positive influence to her community in West Kalimantan while introducing the richness of Indonesian culture to the world stage.
Alima’s success as a delegate for AIYEP 2024 reflects the spirit of the young generation of Indonesia who are progressive, globally competitive, and ready to face world challenges. With her enthusiasm and determination, she is ready to make West Kalimantan and Indonesia proud through this program.
