DPC IWAPI Indramayu Cares for Victims of Eretan Sea Flood

INDRAMAYU-ASWINNEWS.COM- The Board of Directors of the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (DPC IWAPI) Indramayu Regency together with other Women’s Organizations participated in providing assistance to residents of Eretan Village, Kandanghaur District who were affected by the sea flood disaster that occurred 2 days ago in Eretan Kulon and Eretan Wetan Villages whose houses are near the beach, Saturday (01/02/2025).

IWAPI is an organization that supports and advances women entrepreneurs in Indonesia through networks, training, and empowerment programs.

With the occurrence of tidal flooding that was spread through social media, the DPC IWAPI Team of Indramayu Regency together with other Women’s Organizations were moved to want to help and ease the burden of victims of the tidal flood so that the Chairperson of the DPC IWAPI of Indramayu Regency, Hanifah Handayani, took the initiative together with IWAPI members and other women’s organizations to help victims of the tidal flood.

The DPC IWAPI Team together with other women’s organizations, ± 20 people, went to the evacuation site for flood victims in Kertawinangun Village, Kandanghaur District, bringing basic necessities, suitable clothing and medicines for victims of the tidal flood disaster.

In between the DPC IWAPI team distributing basic necessities, clothing and medicines, the media crew tried to interview the head of the DPC IWAPI Indramayu Regency, Hanifah Handayani, explaining, “Today, the DPC IWAPI Indramayu Regency along with a combination of women’s organizations are providing concern for the community in Kandang Haur District who are affected by the flood. Hopefully, this assistance can provide a little happiness for everyone in Eretan Kulon and Eretan Wetan Villages. The assistance is in the form of suitable clothes, instant noodles, ginger milk, snacks and liquid milk. Also, there are medicines. Our hope is that the evacuees will be patient in facing this trial and hopefully the Indramayu government will provide special attention to the community affected by this flood in Eretan Village, Kandang Haur District, because almost every year they are affected by the seawater flood, so there must be the best solution,” he said.
