BENGKALIS –ASWINNEWS.COM – The Bengkalis Regency Government has set nine strategic development programs for the 2025-2029 period in an effort to realize the vision of “Bengkalis Regency with Dignity, Progress, and Prosperity as well as Excellence in Indonesia.”
Bengkalis Regent Kasmarni, through the Regent’s Expert Staff for Community and HR, Johansyah Syafri, said that these strategic programs will focus on infrastructure development to encourage regional economic growth. This was conveyed when opening the Bantan District Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) for 2025 at the Kembung Hall, Bantan District Office, Friday, January 31, 2025.
The Musrenbang is part of the preparation of the Bengkalis Regency Regional Government Work Plan for 2026. On that occasion, Johansyah Syafri conveyed the details of the nine strategic development programs of Bengkalis Regency as follows:
1. Construction of the Bengkalis Island-Sumatra Island Bridge
This bridge will be a strategic connectivity between Bengkalis Island and Sumatra Island, facilitating mobility and accelerating economic flows.
2. Construction of the Bukit Batu Pratama Hospital
This facility is expected to improve health services, especially in the Bukit Batu area and its surroundings.
3. Construction of the Balai Raja Eco Park
An environmental tourism area to support nature conservation while improving the tourism sector.
4. Construction of the Duri Polytechnic
This vocational-based higher education is expected to produce skilled workers to support the industrial sector in Bengkalis Regency.
5. Development of the Duri Islamic Center
As a center for religious activities and the development of Islam in the Duri area.
6. Development of the Bengkalis Island Islamic Civilization Center
This center will be an icon of Islamic civilization as well as a religious tourism destination.
7. Development of the Buruk Bakul Industrial Area
This area will be an industrial center to encourage economic growth and create jobs.
8. Development of the Rupat Island Special Economic Tourism Zone
Rupat Island will be developed into a leading tourist area, with a focus on increasing the attractiveness of domestic and foreign tourists.
9. Revitalization of the Selat Baru Zoo
This revitalization aims to improve the quality of the zoo as an educational family tourism destination.
Regent Kasmarni hopes that these programs can be implemented with the support of all elements of society and become the main driving force in realizing the grand vision of Bengkalis Regency. With the spirit of togetherness, Bengkalis Regency is expected to be more advanced and competitive at the national level.
