BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM
The White Sand Mangrove Tourism in Sungai Batang Village, Bengkalis Sub-district, Bengkalis Regency, remains inaccessible to visitors. Its vast potential as a leading tourist destination is hindered by inadequate road access, making it difficult for visitors to reach the site.
This tourist area is often referred to as a hidden natural gem with promising beauty. However, the lack of supporting infrastructure remains a major obstacle to its development.
In an interview with Aswinnews.com on Monday, January 27, 2025, Acting Head of Sungai Batang Village, Budiman, SE.MM, explained the current state of the location. “It is true that the Mangrove Tourism in Sungai Batang Village has extraordinary appeal. However, poor road access is the main issue, preventing the area from being opened to the public,” he stated.
Budiman added that with proper attention and support from the government and relevant stakeholders, this area has the potential to become a prime tourism attraction in Bengkalis Regency. He is optimistic that developing the site could boost the local economy.
The residents of Sungai Batang Village also hope for concrete actions from the local government to improve road access to the location. They also wish for the development of other supporting facilities, such as parking areas, tourist information centers, and additional rest areas, so that visitors can enjoy the beauty of the mangrove area comfortably.
If these issues are addressed, the Mangrove Tourism in Sungai Batang Village has the potential to become a new tourism icon in Bengkalis Regency, attracting local and non-local tourists alike.
