Free Nutritious Meals: Prabowo’s Breakthrough for National Welfare
Cirebon, 7 January 2025 By Abah Roy Chairman of DPC ASWIN Cirebon
President Prabowo Subianto has officially launched the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) as a strategic initiative to enhance the quality of life for Indonesians. Starting in early January 2025, this program aims to provide free access to healthy and nutritious meals, particularly for underprivileged communities.
This initiative is not just about addressing nutritional needs but also a concrete effort to combat poverty and boost national productivity. With a government budget allocation of IDR 71 trillion, the program is expected to reach communities across Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke.
However, in its initial phase, some regions still rely on personal funding from President Prabowo. In Kendari, for example, the program has been directly supported by the President as a testament to his commitment to its success. The Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, has assured that the government is expediting the distribution of funds to ensure the program’s nationwide implementation.
The MBG program is expected to not only fulfill the basic needs of the population but also stimulate economic activity in local areas. By increasing economic circulation in the food sector, this program is believed to create a positive ripple effect for Indonesia’s economy as a whole.
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized, “This program is a symbol of the government’s love for its people. We want to ensure that no Indonesian child goes to bed hungry or lacks access to healthy meals.”
Through this program, the government remains optimistic about laying a solid foundation for a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Indonesia. The Free Nutritious Meals Program is not just a gesture of government concern but a concrete step toward building a better nation.
