HABEMA’S KOMSOS ACTIVITY BRINGS JOY TO CHILDREN IN BATAS BATU

Krepkuri Nduga, MediaHabema-aswinnews.com- The Para Raider 503 Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif Para Raider 503/Mayangkara Kostrad), part of the TNI HABEMA Operational Command, is actively engaged in border security operations between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, specifically in Nduga Regency, Papua Highlands Province. On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the task force conducted a Territorial Activity as part of their patrol in the Batas Batu region. This activity focused on fostering Social Communication (Komsos) with local children while ensuring the safety and security of the area.

Taking advantage of the sunny Sunday, Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad distributed biscuits to children at several points along their patrol route. The activity was led by Post Commander Captain Infantry Galih Widiharyo Nugroho. The joy on the children’s faces as they received the biscuits was a testament to the success of the TNI in building a positive rapport with the community, reaching out to people of all ages. The harmonious interactions underscored the close bond between the TNI and the local population.

This Territorial Activity aligns with the TNI’s commitment to supporting the welfare of Papua’s communities through inclusive engagement, as outlined in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2020 on Accelerating Welfare Development in Papua.

“The distribution of biscuits to children by Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad in Batas Batu is a concrete implementation of the TNI’s mission to foster Social Communication as a step toward accelerating Papua’s development,” stated Brigadier General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA, following the activity report.
